Almond Castile Soap with Fair Trade Shea 32 fl oz (946 ml) Liquid
    Apr 19, 2016
    YIPPEE CLEAN KI-YAY!
At first, this review may seem offbeat: However, it sooo testifies to the soap's gentle-yet-effective versatility for safe human & household cleaning. I first tried this Almond Castile Soap to clean mud off of my poodle's hairy paws 🐩! ANY rain makes clay-mud, which turns his paws into mud cupcakes ;-). I used ~1/4 cup Almond Castile Soap in a bathtub filled to 2" with warm water. The water got cloudy -not bubbly, but still felt soapy. I applied a few drops of straight soap to each paw. Mere gentle massaging dissolved all the mud. Overly frequent or harsh washing causes dry cracking of his precious toe skin & foot pads, as it also does with l my excema-prone human skin. Plain water doesn't dissolve the mud, in which case he will lick his feet obsessively. After cleansing, down the drain like the dissolved mud, easily rinsed off his poodle paws, no soap suds clung to the drain, & no mud clumps in the strainer. It was so easy and smelled so good I got into my happy cleaning mood and used straight soap on a cotton cough to wipe down the tub walls. Well "bust my buttons!" Years of "residue" was nearly gone after a simple gentle wash & towel dry. Weeks later the tub walls are still clean. I don't worry about the dangers of frequent use of bleach or ammonia anymore. I just swoosh the tub clean of dust etc. with a weak solution of Almond Castile Soap before I fill it for a soaking bath. I confess I hate to waste this soap for regular bathing when it is so useful diluted for other jobs. I will get the nerve eventually. I did fill a little so dispenser with some liquid by my kitchen sink to help avoid getting eczema on my hands from washing with dish soap.!(I know... duh!). I wish the smell lasted longer but I'm sure it must leave a better residual than the noxious chemicals I used before! Next job, arrack the stubborn grime on my linoleum floors!!
