Crucial MX300. A good affordable SATA SSD.
So you have a PC that uses hard drives. It's slow to boot, slow to open stuff, and just plain slow in general. The solution is simple. Replace that hard disk drive with a solid state drive. (HDD with SSD.) The question is how. If you have an older system made before the advent of the NVME standard used now then you will need a SATA SSD.
This drive is the best value drive as it is generally the cheapest option available from a known company. There are cheaper drives out there but they are cheap clones that fail or are worse than old school hard drives in terms of speed.
I bought 2 of these MX300 drives in the 2 terabyte capacity and use them both for my data storage. Drive one sits in my secondary home PC I use for Steam games. It is the Steam library drive for all the data. The other one sits in my laptop as the second drive and I use it for my backup so that the machine is fully solid state. No mechanical HDD in it. Just a Samsung 960 Pro 2TB NVME as primary and Crucial MX300 as backup.
This line is a solid buy. I recommend them.

A Beast of a Motherboard
I purchased this board as the price vs feature set was good. For an average of $200 USD you get so many pro spec features that are really useful. Things like 2 way SLI support and RAID of PCI-E M.2 SSD. The Z270 chip is amazing. 24 PCI-E lines for many things. This allows for a pair of video cards to work in x8 mode each and leave 8 lines empty for the M.2 slots. This board allows for up to 3 NVME spec spec drives in form of twin M.2 and a standard PCI-E x4 SSD to all work together in RAID. In RAID 0 stripe array the access speeds are insane if a pair of good drives are selected. I personally have a pair of fast drives and in RAID 0 I hit the maximum IO of the CPU at 3.5 GB a second. MY drives could go as far as 4.5GB or possibly 5GB if the CPU had more IO support for faster speed.
Then there is the overclocking. The auto overclock feature seems to work quite well. In my case I manually overclocked to the limit and dropped the clock until stable. I then did the auto overclock and it pulled my CPU to the same point I found stable when manually overclocked. The ASUS UEFI BIOS is broad and full of features.
This is a good value board. There are many more areas I have not covered that this board has. I just covered the base important details. If you can afford it and can benefit from the features then go for it. You will not be disappointed.
