Fabulous box set of a great band, which should have stayed in print.
Too bad this is out of print, it's a fabulous box set. A vinyl edition might be worth your while, as it's probably still available.

Porgie and Mudhead can still bring a chuckle
Parts of it drag on and don't hold up as well as they used to, but the radio preacher is funny at times. The real reason for this CD, tho, is High School Madness, still pretty amusing even to those of us not under the influence now.

Better than the later remastered CD.
1 of 1 found this helpful I prefer this original 1988 CD pressing to the remaster that came out much later, as the remix was inferior. Dark Star, the opening track, is the real reason to own this CD. It's (in my opinion) the best ever version, and the remix ruins it by mixing Garcia's guitar way down to nothing, when it's the lead voice of the whole piece.
