Avoid!
1 of 1 found this helpful If you're planning a career on sculpting in polystyrene or balsa wood, then this tool is probably the one for you. Joking aside, it is way overpriced for what you actually get. The motor is nowhere near up to the job. Far too lightweight, burnt out after FIRST moderate use (grinding smooth a mild steel bolt stump). Shame really, as I'm £100 down now, and I'll be thinking twice about buying any other Proxxon tools in the future. Fork out a bit more and buy the ArborTech one.

Replacement for PURE Evoke-3 PSU
Bought as a replacement for the original, ten year old PSU, which finally wore out due to the h.f. filter (a ferrite core) on the cable, causing fatigue on the copper conductors due to its weight. The replacement does the same job, but is far lighter and less clunky. The length of the lead is 2m, so shorter than the original, but shouldn't be an issue for most people. All in all, an improvement on the original. Took about four days to ship from Jersey to the UK.
