If you like US history, extraordinary writing, and your freedom, you'll love this nook
3 of 3 found this helpful One year in the life of a reluctant General George Washington, his key advisors, and what was initially a haphazard group of farmers-turned-soldiers took my breath away. Letters from the field to loved ones, maps of key battles, perspectives from both sides, especially Washington's, illustrate how the Americans, vastly outgunned and outnumbered, made themselves too expensive to fight for the most powerful army and Navy on Earth - England's and it's allies'. I was humbled in reading it, surprised that the Continental Army's first headquarters sat at One Broadway Street in New York City. The American Army was looked upon by the British as trash - viewed as game to hunt down and kill. How a rag-tag army of soon-to-be former British subjects showed their stones, even though a little too much rum hindered them here and there. My favorite quote in the book by Washington's most valued staff, lawyer Joseph Reed in a letter home to his wife:. "When I look down and see the prodigious fleet they have collected, the preparations they have made, and consider the vast expenses incurred, I can't help being astonished that a people should come 3,000 miles at such risk, trouble and expense to rob, plunder, and destroy another people because they will not lay their lives and fortunes at their feet. ". As an American citizen - especially one not familiar with the prominent northeastern U.S. cities, this book changed my life.

Stunning, vibrant, healthy hair
The whole Developus/Satin line is extraordinary. I discovered it in a small beauty supply store in Sherman Oaks California that sells to a lot of movie and television hair and make up professionals. I was standing next to a woman who stood with about thirty boxes of Satin and who was the lead stylist for the TV series, Friends. The colors are stunning, but the shine is over the top, probably due to the aloe vera/silicon components. Make sure you use the Developus developer along with the Satin color. Developus makes a developer formulated especially for gray hair. I do my own color, but have my hair cut by a very good stylus. That saves me about $125 at the salon. Based on his observation of my color, my hair's luster, and how well Satin handles gray hair, he started using it in his salon. It's actually targeted for professional use. I was lucky to find it.

Nothin' like Klipsch

Great value for day-to-day use item - you won't be traumatized if they're lost or damaged from rough treatment - just buy another pair or even an extra pair. These phones interpret perfectly what the playing device intends. Use your device equalizer to chose range - get your bass and high-hat sounds as intended and appreciate how these Klipsch earbuds deliver the sound as the performers/engineer intended. I have never understood those who depend on earphones/buds to boost bass which is the playback device's job. Earphones/buds are for accurate sound delivery and these Klipsch S3m's do that job magnificently AND for a comparatively modest price.
