Great Product and Fast Ice
I bought this to replace an old ice maker in my refrigerator that was that was starting to have major problems. Rather than replace the ice maker with a new one in an older refrigerator I opted to buy a portable countertop ice maker. That would allow me to move it around for other situations and give me a solution to my old ice maker This unit solved the problem and looks great with my other appliances that are stainless steel. It makes ice extremely fast and we really like the shape of the ice. My old ice maker produced ice that was curved on one edge and flat on the other. That was to allow it to eject from the ice maker at the end of each cycle. The problem with that shape is that the curved edge would line up with the inside edge of the cup or glass and create a dam. I've been drenched on quite a few occasions when the ice shifted and the liquid rushed out of the glass. The unique shape of this ice prevents that from happening and well as cooling liquids quicker due to its surface area.
