Almost but no cigar
The issue I found is the metal crossbar is too short. Another 3/4 to 1 inch wider and moving the elongated hole out would allow both sides to share in mounting firmly with the clamp bolt with turn knob to the metal plate on the bottom with the nut fastener. As it is stretching it out max does not allow enough rooms making the one sides bolt miss the hole in metal bar and it clamps the top and bottom of plastic clamp compressing it against the metal bar. Daily driving shouldn't be a problem. Any bouncing or jarring of product on a dirt road or trail may cause premature fatigue and breaking of the plastic clamp. Other then that it looks great and does function.

Waste of money.
The tool is cheaply made. Go figure due to cost of the kit. First fitting I attempted broke the pin that holds the tool together. The pin is not hardened and the groove that holds the retainer clip is shallow. The material left on the pin on the outside of the clip is so thin on the first attempt the pin sheared causing the clip to fly. Attempted to do the rest with visegrips hold the tool together which proved to be ineffective. Not worth buying. Save money and buy a better quality kit.
