Hitec RCD Inc. RDX1 Mini AC Charger

Great charger!
In a nut shell, this is a very nice lipo balancing charger for the price. Fairly easy to navigate, has all the most common features you would expect, works well, its accurate and reliable. This is the first time I have purchased a Hitec brand charger, although it appears to be a SkyRc manufacture product. I say this because it operates and looks (other than exterior color) to be just about identical to the SkyRc S65 charger, but at a lower price point. Nice! I have owned a few different brands of chargers, including an older (2008) SkyRc B6 mini, which was a very good charger, but the interface was too complicated and needed refined. This Hitec RDX1 mini has some of those refinements, which improves user navigation and experience. It's not a lot of refinement, but just enough to remove some of the unnecessary features. Over the years, SkyRc has made some slight changes and improvements to their user interface of their chargers. That is also what I see in the Hitec RDX1 mini balancing charger. If comparing to other manufactured chargers, it is not as easy or intuitive to navigate as say an ISDT Q series charger, as they have one of the easiest and cleanest user interfaces of any lipo charger on the market. But that being said, the SkyRc designs are not too difficult to use and have a much better reliability track record from what I have found in my research. So the Hitec RDX1 mini should also share that reliability. Some of my favorite improvements over older designs, is that it does not require a separate power supply for the input power. Just plug the power cord into an AC outlet. For some people that may not be big deal. Others may prefer the DC power input, so they can use the charger at the flying field or with a larger battery pack. I believe Hitec's intention is that this is a strictly indoor charger. Another improvement is the option to turn off both the button beeping sound and the buzzer sound. That's nice to have, since the beeping and buzzer are quite loud and sometimes annoying. I have also tested all functions and find they all work very well and as described. This unit also has the updated XT60 output connection port vs the older banana pins. That's a nice safety feature that prevents accidental damage by inadvertently reversing the battery connections to the charger. The price is good for what you get and Horizon's shipping was very fast. All-in-all I'm very pleased with the purchase and would very much recommend this charger.
