Difficult Set-up
I ordered a new Cor 5C, but was sent an open box 7C. The set-up was complicated: much more complicated than the Ecobee. You need to be pretty good with your computer skills and know a bit about HVAC systems if you want to DIY. The open box Cor 7C that I received had an old URL that needed to be updated in its advanced settings. This information was not in the instructions. I had to call their tech support after some frustrating time not being able to connect to the internet. In addition, the instructions called for a 4 digit registration code, but my unit was providing a 6 digit code. Once again, no solution for that in the instructions: I had to call tech support for the solution. The wiring and 40 internal settings are dependent upon your HVAC equipment configuration. If you have HVAC expertise, no issues: if not, you may end up doing some guessing! I finally got my 7C working and it appears to be doing fine. Since it was only $55, I don't regret getting it. I prefer the ecobee for its ease of installation and more user friendly app and reports.
