Best nozzle yet
I’ve been gardening over 50 years and until this came along it was bad enough struggling with a kinky hose, but when nozzles failed, too, I was frustrated. The standard brass nozzles often leaked, and putting in a new washer didn’t always solve the problem. Power hoses sometimes have a lifetime guarantee, but who wants to use them that long when they are hard to to adjust exactly to each plant’s fragility.
This nozzle does everything—water volume is adjustable in a split second and on/off works perfectly. I have balance problems, so shlepping back and forth to the hose faucet is quite challenging. Now wherever I am in the garden, I just move the lever with my thumb, and leave the hose where it is with no leaking.
The dials are fun toys, and I’ve put them to a lot of turning for the last 2 months. Very sturdy. Made in 🇺🇸 or Taiwan, not 🇨🇳, for those who want to avoid Chinese goods.
Here in Los Angeles under the new drought rules, you’re allowed to water at night with a hose anytime—as long as it has a turnoff lever. So I’m all set!

Perfect dessert
I’m addicted to these! I often just have 2 or 3 after a meal— if I can control myself. The right blend of crunchiness and not-too-sweetness.

Don’t buy a castle if you can help it
Two people who are in love and love their drafty Welsh castle buyers work tirelessly to restore it. Wonderfully written and illustrated by them. 20 years later it’s fun to catch up on the current status of Gwyndir Castle on line (still flooding periodically, one paneled room still missing, BnB guests).
