Some modifications required

The part was of general good quality as described, being made of metal as noted in one of the reviews, not plastic. Quite durable and robust. The part was the correct type for the split dutch door in the back, for which the exterior handle tends to fail due to metal fatigue after years of use (so I've heard from other Astro owners). Anyway, the repair can be tricky, since you have to have a working handle to get the door open in the first place to gain access to make the repair (there is no internal handle or other means to open the door. We were able to get the door to open one last time with the remains of the old handle. The new one went in as expected, with the linkage to the door latch made with a small friction fit plastic collar. The door closed and opened two times, then the linkage slipped out of the collar, and we were stuck, with the door firmly closed and no way to reconnect the linkage. Thus we had to drill out the two studs mounted to the handle, remove it and open the door by pulling on the linkage. It turns out that the end of the linkage has a groove milled in it suitable for a metal snap ring. So we remounted the handle with two new through bolts (with nuts on the inside of the door) and re-connected the linkage using the snap-on ring (not included with the part as ordered). Now it works reliably. So go ahead and order this part, it is a great value! Just be sure not to trust the snap-in linkage collar on it's own--add a metal clip-ring to start with, before you find yourself in the pickle that we did!

Very good, mine were delivered as two tone grey, not all black (as shown).

The color grey was substituted for black, which I actually like better. Otherwise, product just as expected.
