Hammond inked Mullards
2 of 2 found this helpful Old organ manufacturers, such as Hammond, screened tubes for use their products. I haven’t a clue for WHAT they screened FOR, but I swear by them. Wurlitzer did too. Every Hammond inked Mullard I63 12AX7 I’ve used in my guitar amps have been especially sweet compared to others not screened by Hammond. These particular ones are no exception and are in pristine condition...plus pegged my tube tester. Works of art and technology. Be happy these bits of history are still available, within your lifetime. They simply haven’t, or cannot, recreate that something special. I guess if you’re fighting a war with equipment that uses tubes, you make them better than for slack jawed guitar players.

OKTAVA 012 a great mic for the masses!
Inexpensive way to delve into Hypercard and Omni world examples of the oktava 012. I love these mics. They’re condensers so theyre better for quiet stuff strings acoustic and the like...IMHO but w the 10db pad great for snares. Very very sensitive and excellent mics. I’ve used them as room mics w drums in cardioid patters. Sounded great. Great way to add room shape for the cheap. A pair of these. Buy them individually on auction and you’ll find them under 150 a piece. They don’t need to be matched pairs. It’s even better if they’re not if yo ask me..less chance of phase cancellation it appears, put mics where it sounds good to you’re EARS not what some dude w another “technique” tells you. Put your head there...does it sound good. Put a mic there. Don’t measure distance.. don’t do it. You’re not an assembly line you can adjust pan easy and the “stereo field” doesn’t HAVE to be even, if it sounds great. It’s all just silly.! You’ll thank me later.

421 u5 shock mount
Fits the bill for a broken 421 clip. This attaches to a normal mic stand and the mic slides right into the shock mount like the original clip did. I don’t ever remove it from the mount or the stand as it’s one of my fave mics. It’s great.
