Alternative to the traditional
1 of 1 found this helpful I finally did what I always wanted to do and that is install these Dunlop flush mount strap locks to all my basses. I had the traditional post type, which also allows you to use a standard strap. I opted to move away from these because when you're using the strap-lock your strap is about a half inch away from your instrument. I thought this looked kind of weird and the pressure craned out like that always had me nervous. These install very easily and are low profile. The only catch...no pun intended, is that you have to use a strap fitted with the Dunlop strap locking mechanism, always...which once you are set up for this, it takes the worry out of it all. If you use more that one strap, as I do, I just had to bite the bullet and buy another set and after that I found this great deal here on eBay and viola! all guitars now fitted....all part of the new way... It takes the worry and guess work out of everything...I recommend these greatly.
