VQ35HR and VQ40DE camshafts are compatible.

Needed an exhaust bank 1 camshaft for VQ40DE but didn't want to pay over $400 for a set of 4 and they don't sell them single. Did some research and found these might be a suitable substitute. I received and measured the cam lobes and only found the exhaust to be 0.5 mm less rise than the stock VQ40DE and all lobes were same phasing and all other dimensions were also the same. Installed and works perfectly!

Trailblazer Converter Lock Issue

The kit in my case did not solve the trailblazer issue with torque converter locking, but did in fact make it worse and more noticeable. Instead of the smooth transition between lock and unlock, it will feel like an additional gear kicking in. Instead of looking like an rpm flutter, you will feel like it is bouncing between gear ratios. If you are looking for a solution for the torque converter lock issue, you will want to also buy a new wire harness that goes into the pan. This harness is submerged in the hot fluid and will fail. Once I did the kit and wire harness, it was much better. Not saying this kit is bad at all. It has instructions that are easy to follow, and will provide better shifting. There is not any required machining of the valve body. Overall took me a few hours to install and be running on the road again.
