Honda's 4 cylinder GoldWing hits the bullseye.
3 of 3 found this helpful Honda's current GL1800 touring bike clearly has its origins in the GL1100 Wing. Certainly there have been many major changes since then, however, the GL1100 has withstood the test of time and proven itself to be the quintessential highway cruiser. No matter where I travel, whenever there is a big group of bikes there is usually a GL1100 nested somewhere in the pack. Most bikes of this era have lived out there lives, died prematurely, or retired to the back the garage. The GL1100 Goldwing can still be found everywhere still putting on the miles daily.
In today's economic climate the GL1100 makes good sense because they are relatively inexpensive, dependable, and get better gas mileage then their GL1800 counterparts. Parts can be found in abundance, and they have more than enough power to push the ultimate vehicle down the road, the sidecar.
If your on a budget, and you still want to do some major touring, Honda's GL1100 will get you anywhere you want to go.

Simple, sleek, and durable.
Simple, sleek, and took the abuse for karaoke where all other mixers failed within 3-6 months. Very happy with the durability, matched impedance well, and produced no hum.
