Pocket rangefinder!
Petite but powerful well-built camera with all controls to hand. Put a 14mm F2.5 Panasonic lens on it and it’s a nice, virtually compact camera that’ll fit into a jacket pocket. Don’t let comparisons with the earlier GF1 put you off- this works like an early GM1 but with not quite as good as a sensor.

A Pocketful of Superlatives
Okay, tiny sensor alert 🚨 Right, now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s concentrate on the good. This is a stylish, well-built, fully-featured image-making machine. The lens itself is worth the asking price alone. As for image quality, stick to monochrome for jpegs and raw for colour to get the most out of this little classic.

A Harry Handsome compact camera...
The Leica D-LUX 5 is a beautifully crafted, small-sensor camera that, with accompanying grip and EVF is a proper street machine. Compact and discreet, its 24-90mm lens means you can get in close or keep a little distance and always be discreet. Keep the ISO below 400 and shoot in raw, and you’ll be surprised at just how capable this venerable little classic is.
