BEST of both worlds!
3 of 3 found this helpful I LOVE coffee made in the French Press because it doesn't filter out all the oils and plus there are no filters to buy. The only challenge is that the "standard" size (32 ounce) is great, but because the coffee itself takes up space at the bottom of the pot, it doesn't make enough coffee for both my husband and me to enjoy on weekend mornings when we both would like to have two big mugs without having to brew more.
Ta-da! Enter the 51-ounce press! It's beautiful like the smaller one is, but it holds a lot more coffee and now it's our standard go-to brewer every morning, not just on weekends. Also, the bigger capacity allows for LEFTOVER coffee for the next morning if you don't drink it all the first day. I know that might sound gross, but it's really fine. People drink iced tea out of a pitcher for days on end, so why waste good coffee?
