Should've been a film
Easily my favourite military book but possibly has enough to interest any reader. The horrors of the Vietnam conflict are nothing new, but this is a gripping story with some hilarious anecdotes amongst the intensity of and violence of the first truly helicopter war.

An old favourite
Bill Gunston books were the staple of my childhood. This was one of two books I had as a kid and I still enjoy going through it today. Full of great profiles and potted histories that widen your understanding. I’ve bought another copy for a young lad getting into aviation.
