1/32 Scale Farm House with Porch Plastic Building Diorama Accessory 2-Story Home
Oct 05, 2018
Well-made farmhouse replica.
The farmhouse is a well-made plastic replica in approximate 1/24 - 1/22 scale, matching well with railroad model gauge "G", even though the description identifies it as 1/32, it's a little big for that scale. A nice paint job on the farmhouse would put it on another level. It's preassembled, has no interior, but one could easily add interior details with scratch-built or aftermarket details, furniture, windows and door details. It would be very easy to light the interior, the pre-made house makes it easier for those who just want a building to add to a display, holiday display, or window display. My one complaint, and why I took off one star, is that the doors are cast with the wall panels but that's a small issue and with a little work can be corrected. I recommend this model for anyone looking to decorate a miniature western scene, farm scene or small town scene for model railroading or other hobby.
Amusing Hobby 35B003 1/35 Fries Kran 16t Strabokran (1943)
Jun 24, 2020
A big model with working features.
The Amusing Hobby kit number 35B003, injected plastic model kit of the "Fries Kran 16 ton Strabokran (1943)", literally, "Frieze crane", in English, meaning assembly crane, in 1:35 scale is presented in a large box with a sturdy, corrugated cardboard bottom, and a fairly stiff white cardboard top, illustrated with plan-like views of the crane, photos of the assembled model, and two wartime photos of the crane in use during the Second World War. The box is big enough to hold the seven sprues of 316 perfectly flash free, injection molded plastic parts, four of which, the gantry legs, made up of several separate parts, are already assembled for you, metal chain, metal cable, thin cord, and a metal ring, bagged separately and safely in the box. A multi-page instruction assembly booklet is included, that details the assembly of the complicated model in 35 steps. As with most assembly instructions included with kits produced in the Asian marketplace, the instructions are presented solely in highly detailed, illustrations of the individually numbered parts, clearly identified in the easy to follow assembly steps, making wordy explanations unnecessary It's a beautifully produced kit with working features, sure to build up into a fine model of this assembly crane, used frequently in maintenance facilities and armored vehicle factories throughout German territory during the Second World War. I highly recommend this kit for more experienced modelers.
Soda Machine Adapter to CGA 320 Bulk Co2 Tank Coil Hose Direct Line, Co2 upgrade
May 22, 2018
Seltzer on the cheap
I used my soda machine adapter and hose on a 5 lb tank I picked up online and swapped for a filled tank at a local CO2 distributor. I also swapped out the hose to tank connection with a quick release fitting and matching male nozzle on the tank side. Everything works like a charm and I've got much more reasonably priced seltzer on demand and with no cans or bottles to add to the environment. It's a worthwhile purchase, no more lugging cases of seltzer home. I think I'll experiment with making some root beer too.
