Effective and versatile.
I was very pleased to find this on eBay, as it has been recommended to me by a number of friends. Bar keepers Friend is ideal for scummy shower screens, Corian worktops and even cleaning stained mugs. This is a gentle cleaner with no abrasiveness.
You just need to sprinkle the powder onto a dampened cloth and away you go. One thing to remember is that if it is not wiped off completely, there will be a white residue left, which will need wiping away, but this is a minor point. All in all a great product and very versatile.

Did absolutely no blending.
Despite using it exactly as described on a number of sites and practising on various different papers and using a number of different application tools, it did absolutely no blending at all on my wax or oil based coloured pencils and I tried them all, multiple times. I also asked some of my art group colleagues to also try it and they had the same experience. Such a disappointment particularly for the cost. Would not recommend this at all.

Excellent blender for smoothies and soups
Having spent some weeks comparing various blender makes I eventually plumped for the Blendtec Classic 570, primarily for its features but also it was within my price range. I have not been disappointed. It is used daily for smoothies and weekly for soups. It blasts its way easily through various smoothie mixes that generally contain the toughest kale, carrots, sweet potato etc., leaving a smooth and very drinkable mix. It could be said to be a bit noisy, but for the 45 seconds or so that it is running, who really cares - I can still have a conversation with the family whilst it is running. I can get quite mesmerised watching the vortex action, which is highly efficient at mixing and turning the liquid for even and thorough blending.
The machine is stable and does not wander even at the highest speeds. Its height is ideal as it easily sits in the corner of the worktop, under the wall cupboards in the kitchen. I cannot get it in my floor standing cupboards, but since this is used daily that is not an issue. I like the square jug, because I find it easier to pour from the corner into my small drinks containers, than from a round jug - a minor consideration, but one that I have found very helpful.
It is easy to add ingredients through the removable top section in the lid, but I would slow or stop the machine whilst adding, otherwise you may get a little bit of spray - nothing much, but it could happen if the jug is fully loaded.
The jug and lid wash very easily and as the 'blade' is not sharp, you can really get under it to ensure full cleaning (I do not possess a dish washer so cannot comment on how well it cleans in one). I was a bit dubious that the blunt blade would do the job, but it has no problems dealing with what I put in it.
If you want a good all round blender for general daily use, with safe blunt blades, then this one is perfect.
