Great Reading Books
After my six year old informed me that he hated reading, I decided to purchase these books in efforts to assist me with helping him enhance his reading skills. I knew that these books were carried in his classroom and thought that he would have more interest in something that was more familiar, therefore increasing his love for reading. Harcourt Trophies reading is utilized in schools all around the country and is an important tool for the development of reading skills. With very colorful and vibrant pages and large font letters, these reading books make reading fun for my 1st grader. The "think and respond" sections to each story allows the student to give descriptions of their comprehension of the stories. This allows the parent or teacher to know if the child is grasping the meaning/plot of the story (comprehension is the most important reading skill). This section also allows the parent to understand exactly what the teacher is looking for in the classroom. I love these books and so does my 1st grader. After 1st grade we will definitely purchase second grade edition if needed and will pass these on to the three younger nieces for many more years of use!

Great instructional guide.
Love this book. Although it's an adult book. It is easy enough for my 8 year old to learn from and his teacher loves instructing from this book.
