The Secret - A management tool?
I had heard whispering about "The Secret" - a few gatherings to watch the movie were rumored... So, I thought - I need the Secret too!
I must say I wasn't disappointed! As a manager, I've long been an advocate of personal responbility - for both myself and my employees. So after reading The Secret, I purchased several copies to share with my managers. In this world of gloom and doom - The Secret is a breath of fresh air. It provides a postive, uplifting message.
As they say " Try it - you'll like it!" I did and I do!

Too much variance in fit.
Installed the table base - no screws included. Placed my table in the base and it wobbled around. I measured the base and the tolerance was 1/4 of an inch, which allows the top of the table to wobble a couple of inches. I ended up fixing it with some metal 1/12 tape I had available. Added wraps around post until fit was snug. I know the fix will have to be repeated - looking for a more exacting table base.

Get Connected - Jeffery Gitomer's Little Black Book
Want to get connected? It doesn't matter if you are in sales, social services, education or manufacturing. This is the book to read. Gitomer takes common sense approaches to help you build relationships. Need to improve customer relations or in-law relations? The Little Black book identifies the needs, wants and methods to improve your relationships. It is a must read for sales! But is applicable for all personnel - internal and external customers. If you want things to just come to you by reading the book - save your money! It takes work and planning - not just for a day, or a year - but a life time. Gitomer's books rank high on my recommendation list. Bet you can't read just one!
