Hard to find glare filter for LCD widescreen
Having replaced the computer screen with a 21 inch widescreen LCD, I was surprised to find how very few straight glare filters are made these days. There are lots of "privacy" filters available, which make the screen look black when viewed from an angle, which might be OK in an office situation with computers being used exclusively solo, but not for our use where several might sometimes be looking at the screen at once (eg our kids watching a DVD on the computer together, or my wife and I looking at/working on something together. This product is about the only option now available for this sort of size screen. I find that it is a bit more reflective than the old Fellowes filter was, but otherwise it's perfect. Frameless on 3 sides and so easy to lift off and on for cleaning etc., it filters out harsh glare without darkening or distorting colour. Greatly reduces eye fatigue - well worth the cost when you spread it over many years of use.

Optimum space efficiency and practicality
We needed a bigger fridge with as little depth as possible due to limited kitchen space. This model has a completely FLAT door and superb space efficiency, plus minimal rear and side clearances required, so it has far less depth (including door and rear clearance) than the other brands. It also has a higher proportion of fridge space to freezer space than most brands, which is ideal for us. The crisper with movable divider and 2 separate humidity controls is brilliant for storing fruit in one and veges in the other, and rolls in and out very easily. Door shelves are very deep, maximising accessible space. The accessories (door shelves, dividers etc.) seem much more robust than our previous Kelvinator. Lighting is good, layout very practical, no complaints at all about this fridge! Make sure you adjust the front feet to raise the front of the fridge 10mm higher than the back - this is in the installation instructions but installers aren't aware, drip tray system won't function correctly if you don't.

Fascinating, educational and enjoyable book about life in Australia
There are innumerable old coffee-table style books about Australia that have become dated, with obsolete facts and poor quality pictures. This timeless gem from 1978 is so different! Not only are the pictures in full colour, the size and quality of the images is brilliant even by recent standards. The hardback binding is also of exceptional quality, which is no doubt why there are so many good condition copies available second-hand today.
Its focus is the fascinating lives of people in all different parts of this vast and varied country - families, men, women, elderly, children, Aboriginal, Caucasian or others. There's also a lot of little-known history, geography, facts about Australian animals, agriculture, art and architecture, weaved into the stories selected here from the ABC TV series "A Big Country".
The photos are candid, not canned, making you feel like you are "there" as you read the stories. One or two - such as the one on page 99, of two schoolboys showing their teacher their work, relaxed and unembarrassed as they appear on prime-time national TV in their customary state of the nude - might sadly these days get cropped or changed; but it was a simpler and happier time, when boys could be boys, and kept their natural simplicity and freedom much longer!
As I grew up, this book was on the family coffee table and enjoyed by all who picked it up, so I was delighted to pick up my own copy second hand and have it to share with our own kids and visitors. Definitely worth buying!
