Excellent Sound, But Pricey.
Canopus snare cord is very light weight and easy to get that full pull on the outside of your snare wires for greater snare drum sensitivity. I've used many other cords, cables and wires over the years, but Canopus has the best snare cord out there. Now the bad news, the cost for one set of cord is minimally $5.00 and that stinks. Gibraltar packages 2 sets of cords and Ludwig sells their cord in 10 foot lengths for under $10.00. So as far as value is concerned, no it's not a good value. However, if you want the best cord around and are willing to pay for it, this is it.

The VKB5 is a well balanced tool for a drummer to have
The VKB5 is a well balanced tool for a drummer to have in their arsenal. I would not suggest that this be their only beater though. I am not even certain, after one week of playing, that this would be my 'go to' beater. It's got a nice nice feel. I believe the balance in design, not generated so much by the wood shaft, but more the metal weight at the bottom of the wood securing it to the metal rod is nice. As far as Speed & Power, I don't feel it. The same doubles and triples I did with my SLUG Beater are performed with the VKB5, so no difference in speed. Power, especially for Rock, can be achieved, but for my tastes a flat head SLUG Beater delivers far more Punch from the bass drum. All in all this is a nice beater, but far from the 'WOE!" advertisement Vic Firth puts on this. Three Stars.

Awesome Edition!
An absolute great concert. This is the expanded set that brought us the original Night After Night release back in 1979. Why "The Only Thing She Needs" was never on that original release is a mystery to me. In full glory here with Bozzio playing so darn melodically he literally mimics Jobson's lines on his bass drums! The tune cooks like a kettle on the boil from start to finish. This is a great set with the solos all included. Of course this was all on the Ultimate Collector's Edition as well released back in 2016. But I do like the entire repackage here to get these live gems out of Wetton, Jobson & Bozzio. U.K. was a great Super Band that originally started with Holdsworth and Bruford but they left to pursue other interests after fearing the band would venture into 'pop' territory. And, after his days in Yes and a brief touring stint with Genesis in 1976, Bill would have non of the 'pop' characteristics associated with his name again. Until ABWH, that is. Nonetheless, the Bozzio band always held a special interest for me, cause quite frankly, I thought Terry was rejevenated after leaving Zappa and this live set, shows it!
