Solid and performs according to specs
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a solid inverter with 120/240V split phase output, 3000 watt continuous power capability, and with a very clean sine wave output. I compared the sine wave generated by this inverter to that of a Magnum Magazine inverter, and the Magnum had some noise at the 0 volt crossover whereas this inverter did not. As a result, motors run quieter and appliances such as microwave run better. The really clean sine wave of this inverter may explain the lesser efficiency of this inverter compared to the Magnum ( = 85 % for this inverter versus 92 % for the Magnum)
In my setup, I added a 3000 watt 120/240V step up/step down transformer so it can balance the split phase and for hard to start loads such as compressors. This is something that the manufacturer could also consider doing in a future product.
The power transistors, the power filters, and the overall design of this inverter are all good. The internal wiring is clean. The fans are effective moving the air out but -- there is thermal management on the unit so the fans only come on when they need to.
This is a solid inverter at an affordable price. and I'm happy with it.
