If you like the first Gears, this one's even better
Gears 2 is a bit different from Gears 1, and it features a lot of gameplay changes and nifty new tricks to make it an all-around excellent game for anyone who like its prequel. I'll put the important stuff at the beginning for those who don't feel like reading a lot. In order of decreasing importance, here's what's new. -Gears 2 has a longer campaign and an actual plot. Gears 1 had a respectable campaign and a tiny plot. I nearly cried at a couple of parts in Gears 2. -Now when you get knocked down, you can crawl around. Believe me, this is a huge deal! -Multiplayer isn't all about snipers and shotguns anymore. Mid-ranged combat is a viable and important part of the game now for all skill levels. -The campaign involves more allies, more enemies, more enemy types, gigantic bosses, and more over-the-top ridiculous action sequences. Now it feels like there's an actual war going on. -Large support weapons like miniguns and mortars have been added. -Grenades can be planted like proximity mines. Smoke grenades now stun, also. A gas grenade has been added. -Players can play with bots or with the awesome new "Horde" game mode where players must survive waves of attacking locust NPCs. -Old weapons have been changed and rebalanced while a few new ones have been added. The biggest difference is that the locust hammerburst assault rifle has been revamped and made into a powerful mid-long range weapon. -Players can protect themselves by picking up shields or downed enemies. -Environments are now more destroyable. Cover becomes a little less useful as it gets chewed up by bullets and explosions. -Chainsaw "ties" become dramatic-looking duels. Whoever can spam a button fastest wins. -Players in co-op mode can each select their own difficulty level. -The campaign involves driving some vehicles that are a bit more useful than the stupid buggy from Gears 1. These parts are actually fun. So, just like you may have suspected, Gears 2 is just like Gears 1 but with a few changes. Campaign battles are bigger, crazier, and feel more like an actual "war." If you really loved the first Gears, you can stop reading here and go get Gears 2. There are no boss fights quite like the one from Gears 1 where you face an enemy who just won't die. There are several more like the Corpser and Berzerker battles where the player must do some sequence events. I personally don't care for these, but they are so over the top and entertaining that I can still enjoy them even if the gameplay aspect is weak. The "normal" battles between boss fights are the highlight of this game. In Gears 1, firefights typically restricted motion that wasn't simply forwards or backwards and it often felt like you had to work your way down a hallway. Gears 2 involves much more wide-open battles. The enemy AI shines in these situations because the locust work together. They'll distract you while their buddies sneak around the back, or they'll lay down cover fire while they try to surround you and overwhelm you with superior numbers. They bail out friends in trouble, and they charge your hurt or isolated allies when they have superior numbers. Lone locusts play conservative, hide a lot, and either try to escape or wait till you pass to take you out from behind. The game also has situations where splitting up with your squad is now optional. Anyway, Gears 2 isn't revolutionary, but it takes the strengths from its prequel, builds on them, and adds a little extra.

Electric Milk Frother Drink Foamer Whisk Mixer Stirrer Coffee Eggbeater Kitchen

Does its job pretty well and very reasonably priced.
This whisks hot milk from the microwave or stovetop into a pretty good froth, and it only takes a few minutes of experimentation to find an angle and depth that work well. For the price, I'm pretty happy with how well it works.

One of the best Xbox shooters, a must-have.
This game is definately one of the very best Xbox 360 games that I've played to date. The graphics are top-notch, the physics are quite good, and the plot is interesting and engrossing. Overall, the gameplay is extremely entertaining, and the single-player campaign is long and changes enough to stay very interesting. There are only a few little hitches that make this just an excellent game and not a completely amazing one. First and foremost, the dynamic of the player's darkling minions is pretty flawed. The player's control over the minions is awkward and unreliable. The only way I've found to make them reliable at all is to avoid using minion controls entirely and hope that they'll be helpful just following me around and using their AI. Sometimes they can be really helpful, but only if you avoid trying to tell them what to do. Otherwise, both the weaponry and darkness powers are very fun to use. There is no reliable way that I've seen to quantitatively gauge the amount of darkness a player has stored up, but things are fairly intuitive anyway. The plot is mysterious and interesting, and the characters are well-portrayed and feature good voice acting. Parts of the game are downright scary, and the campaign stays challenging, though it's almost never so difficult that anyone should get stuck. The darkness powers are fun, just like the first time you get your gravity gun beefed up in Half Life 2, but cooler. The shooting aspect is neat too. Cover is important, and gunfights can be pretty engrossing and cinematic. The player's darkness powers are spaced out at intervals that keep things interesting. They could be a little better documented, though. I didn't know until my second time through that holding down the tentacle button caused it to impale enemies, allowing me to throw them at their buddies. My only issue with the plot is that Jackie, the player's character, doesn't seem very surprised when he first sprouts a set of evil demon snake heads. So, despite some flaws, The Darkness is an awesome game. Now that it's a bit older and cheaper, no fan of shooters or horror/suspense games has any excuse not to own this game. I picked it up used for ~$15, but this game would have been worth full price when it came out, and I've bought only 1 of my 20 or so Xbox 360 games new for full price (Gears of War 2). The side quests are OK, but I was so absorbed in the main quest I missed them the first time through. The multiplayer is decent, but not good enough to pry me away from Gears 2, Halo, or Call of Duty 4/World at War. The game's greatest strength is the single-player campaign, which is totally awesome. I've heard rumors of a sequel, and if one does come out, I'll fight my way to the front of the line on launch day. The only other recent sequel that has me this excited is Gears 2. Keep this one away from impressionable kids. In case you didn't guess, it is incredibly violent. So, this game was almost one of the greatest ever. Here's what would make it an incredible game rather than just an excellent one. -Better control of Darklings. -Tougher, smarter enemies. -Easier to find/more varied side quests. Really, that addresses the few flaws in the game. If this sounds like it might be fun, get it. You won't be disappointed, especially for under $20.
