Great solution to get my Epson XP-860 up and running again!
Followed the instructions sent, although some of the photos in the instructions were difficult to see clearly, and managed to get my printer working again. It does require you to remove several screws and plastic panels out, as well as cut/drill a small hole 8-10mm hole on one plastic panel on the side so that the plastic tube can be connected to the internal waste ink tube (see photos). Once that's all done you have to download and install a software and enter the key code then follow the basic instructions to reset the printer. Overall I'm very pleased with the results.
This kit and the software has saved me probably £100+ had I chosen to get the waste ink pads replaced by Epson directly. Now I have a permanent solution to handle waste ink from the nozzle cleaning runs and never need to replace the ink pads again. Just need to be careful of where the ink potty is stored and to keep it away from curious children who may tamper with it. Also, DON'T shake the potty when there's ink in there like I did. Some ink can spill out of the small vent pinhole and get on your clothes or floor! It is best to store the ink potty in a place where it cannot be accidentally dropped, etc, such as behind the printer or maybe even use some Velcro to attach it somewhere.
In future the only cost would be to pay £4-6 for a waste in pad reset code every time it gives me that error message again, which I can live with as I expect that to be every 2-3 years or so based on our household's usage. Saved me from buying another printer and wasting all of the unused inks I have left.
