Trust OEM replacement strap for proper fit, but keep spring bars
In the past, I've been able to buy a generic replacement and replace it myself whenever the rubber strap for my beloved workhorse Casio CA-53W "nerd watch" failed. Recently, the only 20mm-wide replacement strap available at local stores was far too thick at the ends that mated with the watch body -- thus, I did what I, as an engineer, should have thought to do in the first place and bought this OEM Casio-branded strap. Here, I must warn that this, while an identical replacement for the original strap, is unaccountably sold without the spring bars that serve to hold the watch in place; one is thus advised to retain the spring bars from the failed strap in order to install this otherwise ideal, perfectly fitted replacement strap. Using those saved spring bars from the failed strap, one can install the new strap effortlessly in less than 5 minutes. The result amounts to a functionally renewed watch, with a strap that is physically identical to and as comfortable and apparently sturdy as the original component. Outside of the noted spring-bar caveat, I cannot recommend this product highly enough.
