Perfect flow
The settings are wonderful. Precision stream, not frayed like most handheld wands. The button control is easy and inconspicuous. There is no awkward transitional spraying. The pause isn't a drip which is quite nice to see.

Game Title: "The Confidence Crusher", "The Humbling"...A.K.A. TWISTED METAL
1 of 1 found this helpful Mastering this game is not like riding a bike. I gave my copy away to some kids who were just getting into playstation as I was getting out of it, but recently felt a CRAVING for the CARNAGE I missed oh so dearly.
Upon inserting the disc, listening to that opening song that ends in Sweet Tooth's laugh, flipping through to start the tournament and choosing my ride, I was stumped as to what character would ease me back into the game. I remember seeing the endings for everyone except Sweet Tooth and Grasshopper because with Sweet Tooth you never get a continue and Grasshopper just plain sucks! All other characters standout or bring to the table something special; unlike any other character, which can be used to your advantage through points in the game.
So I went with Axel because I figured at worst possible case and I've forgotten everything, I can just drive up onto people with turbo. I remember that doing plenty of damage. I barely made it through to New York and got slaughtered there, but I picked up some of the directional moves along the way like the freeze, Minoin's special, the jump, and changing views to my advantage.
After that I strayed from a beginner's character and went with more challenging characters. Thumper (ending in the Amazon) was a valid competitor because of his devastating special at close range. Shadow (which ended in a Paris death somehow) is difficult to use effectively. Roadkill (as I was slaughtered early in Moscow) also difficult to use effectively. Grimm survived (to Antarctica I believe) because of his destructive special. Then I took a break.
Next attempt I played around with the buttons until I got Minion because I wanted to conquer the game as I had before and this was the easiest way and conquer I did in the first attempt. It was completely unfair. I continued with Spectre (where Holland was the death of me) and his crazy heat-seeking special along with his speed to get away and cornering ability gave my leverage in my survival. I followed with Slam and somehow managed to die in Moscow again! You would think a slow heavily armored wrecking machine would do well in the tight ring of Moscow, but apparently I suck!
I'm not a big fan of the Cowardly Outlaw who usually runs from a fight or Hammerhead who plays like crash-test-dummies. Grasshopper sucks, Twister (where her speed is above all others) sucks, Warthog (where you ALWAYS better have some turbos when you fight cause he's so SLOW) has plenty of advantages if you always have an escape route.
Not sure if I'm missing anyone, but the point is; there are so many tools to the game that amounts to so many different strategies and the moment you think you have it, you will be destroyed! Always play like you are about to die because when you think you have an advantage and start risk taking, you will become the dog pile of wreckage A.K.A. TWISTED METAL...
