Inexpensive little amp.
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought 2 of these, 1 for a game console and 1 for my PC, both use Optima 2-way reflex bookshelf speakers. They serve the purpose very well.
These are not high quality amplifiers. I don't know what specs they used to rate them at 240w, probably 10% THD, but for small bookshelf speakers at close range they do great. I keep them at about 1/4 volume 90% of the time. For music 1/3 is max before the ugliness begins. For games it's about half or a little less. For voice 2/3 seems to be a good maximum. Again, these are the highest level I turn them to, and rarely at that because they can be quite powerful at those volumes at close range.
My kids play the original Wii using this setup and they're limited to about 1/3 or less with this, which is fine because it's pretty loud then. Let's Dance, Guitar Hero, all those sound great with this amp and the Optima speakers.
I probably wouldn't buy the lesser versions of the Pyle. This one seems to be a good minimum.
I'm really happy with these. I bought them knowing about what I was getting for a certain purpose and they did not disappoint.
These are not hifi or home theater amps. The quality just isn't there. They're utility amps. Use on the PC, game console, garage, anywhere you need more power but not a real "quality" listening experience.
