Oscar Schmidt Tenor Acoustic/Electric Ukulele, Koa Body,OU6LCE w/O.S. Gigbag & P

One of my best ukes, sort of boring to look at, worth every penny.
I jave 8 ukes ranging in price from $40 to $1400. This one was around $275. It arrived in Flawless condition and the quality of every component exceeded my expectations. I can't find a single thing to complain about. The preamp works really great and doesn't seem to sacrifice any sound at all. I also own the Les Paul Epiphone electric ukulele and there is absolutely no comparison between the Les Paul and this Oscar Schmidt. The Oscar Schmidt sounds amazing as an acoustic instrument whereas the Les Paul sounds like a toy unless it's plugged in. It has a super great large sound all around. If I had to find something to complain about my only observation is that the finish of this instrument is very matted and when I look at the inlays I have a tough time Discerning whether or not it's a sticker or if it's a real inlay because the whole instrument has a mat finish and so there's sort of fake look about it. I think some people really like that finish I'm just not one of them. I have other ukuleles that look like real wood and although this one is probably one of the best quality real wood yoox I own it just kind of has a dull plastic appeal. Again, it probably looks that way because the Finish is so perfectly done that the whole thing is seamless. So like I say I'm trying hard to find something wrong with it. I have other Uke's with inlays that seem to pop a little more and the wood grain on this is extremely conservative with no character. It's just kind of a plain instrument I guess. I'm the kind of guy that wants a uke to look like a work of art and this really isn't that kind of look. On the other hand, I would not send it back and I have not seen an alternative uke that I wish I had purchased. Back to the sound, when this thing is played acoustically it's awesome. When it's played electrically it's also awesome. The price was totally worth it. It came with nice strings that I didn't have to deal with right away which was a plus. It arrived in less than 48 hours I think and was packaged really really well. I think I bought it through Reverb. Just for context I will say that I've been playing regularly for about 3 years. I'm just now starting to get some picking into my game. So I'm no virtuoso. I'm no Pro but I probably know ten solid strumming patterns and maybe five or six different picking patterns so I would consider myself better than most other ukulele players I've met in the area but probably not more than a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. I also haven't really had a lot of experience with lots of other Amplified ukuleles. I have the Les Paul which was a total disappointment. That's why I bought this one. This is a tenor size and the Les Paul is concert size but that does not impact my complaints about the Les Paul. Long story short, this instrument exceeded my expectations and I've been playing it for about 2 months now. I highly recommend this instrument. You might find other instruments that are as nice but I really have a tough time imagining one that functions better. If you're looking for a visually exciting instrument this is not the one. Maybe pick up one of those mango spotted ukuleles or Maple or something. This one is super boring. I took these pictures in sunlight which makes it look as good as it will get.

Decent, cheap scope
Magnification is good, clarity is good. Major downside is eye relief. its relatively difficult to get a decent "full scope view" unless you move around a lot. There is a very tiny sweet spot. For my purposes... it didn't matter. But its not mounted on a gun in my case.
