Good for the money but....

This is primarily made for the American market, and as such, earthing cabling is non existent. Which wouldn't be a problem if it was doubly insulated, but it's a painted metal casing. So if the live wire happens to fray or fret in the casing, which is possible given the tightness of the fittings, you have an unearthed dangerous bit of kit. If you do go ahead and buy one, fit your own power lead and earth out the casing, as I have done. Should have checked, but there's no bs or CE markings. Use caution.

Good, but...

In order to benefit you need to have permanent internet connection. Without it, it doesn't work. There is no offline mode as of yet. I would recommend using two of these if your house is larger than 60m2. The further away the controllers, the longer the activation lag, which can vary from almost instant up to ten or so seconds. So more than one unit can improve this.

Updating our +HD box

Easily the best Sky+HD box on the market that I have seen. Compact, neat, quick to install and pair up the card. I salvaged our 1TB Hard drive from the old box and fitted to this one. Drive sizes are the same as the older generation boxes, although a lot more tricky to gain access to the drive on this model, but its possible! Menus are responsive, unlike the first generation that are now beginning to struggle with the improved menu functions sky has introduced recently. Highly reccommended.
