    SL3 LNB solved my Guide-not-updated problem.
    This may or may not be the ideal LNB for your DirecTV Slimline dish; it depends on the area where you live. I had the SL5 LNB for years in my Los Angeles-area home and it worked fine until many months ago when the on-screen Guide would no longer update regularly. I did some research and found that when you use a SL5 LNB your receiver will use a satellite other than the "Big Three" (99; 101;103) for Guide data. Switching to the SL3 solved the problem; and I still receive all channels properly.

    Easy to install interface for triggering external equipment
    Easy to install and integrate with a wired BRK First Alert smoke/Carbon Monoxide detector. Provides a simple normally open or normally closed switch. It just barely fit into my PVC ceiling box so be sure to use a large one or it won't fit. I used it to connect to my old home alarm system to sound the exterior siren.
