Simple data transfer
I tried this out yesterday for the first time and this device makes it easy to transfer data from old hard drives into my computer. All I needed was a nearby power outlet and a nearby USB input.
I did not try the cloning feature. The instruction pamphlet is minimal.
The data transfer speeds I was getting on USB 3.0 were far slower than the transfer speeds I get on my Sabrent USB 3.0 to hard drive converter, but the Unitek has the added features of an extra hard drive slot and one-button offline cloning.
I think this will be a useful device. I plan to use it for upgrading to solid state hard drives as well as data recovery.

One of the great fun heist movies
Oceans Eleven is a remake of the 1960 original movie, a "Rat Pack" (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, et al) film. Made 41 years after the original, this is a worthy remake, with a top-notch cast (Brad Pitt and George Clooney) and director (Steven Soderbergh). It is the ultimate fun heist movie. I also like "Oceans Eight" and "Oceans 13".
This movie is proof that you can make a great movie, and have a lot of fun doing it.

An inexpensive digital photo frame
I bought this for relatives who are still in the analog age. They did not have any way to look at digital pictures produced by me, their kids or their grandchildren, either.
I put some digital photos in this before shipping it off. I thought all I would have to do is plug in my flash drive and copy the pictures into the memory of the device. Maybe this is possible, but I ended up using the Kodak Easyshare software that comes with it to do the transfer.
I put the software in an old laptop computer (my anti-virus software on my newer computer would not accept the software).
It took an hour or more to figure out how to use this software to transfer the files. On my first try, I exceeded the memory on the frame, so I cut back the number of pictures, rather than going to all the trouble of downsizing the pictures to save on frame memory.
The device mixed sample pictures with the ones I put in it, so I deleted the sample pictures to avoid that. The pictures I put in look great.
Having put my family pictures in the frame, I mailed it to my non-technical relatives.
I got a phone call a few days ago. They love this picture frame! They thanked me profusely for it. So, it was a success.
I figure their grandchildren are probably tech savvy enough to figure out how to put their own pictures into the frame.
While it can be difficult to put pictures into the memory in the device, it does seem to be easy enough for non-technical people to view those pictures, and that is the main reason I bought it.
