A Very Clean Sounding DAC
1 of 1 found this helpful As you would expect from a Sony product, the unit is solidly built, compact, and clear and easy to use. With the DAC being removed from the iPhone 7 Plus and integrated into its Lightening earphones, the Sony PHA-1A Wolfson DAC fills in the gap created by the removal of the DAC from the iPhone. The sonic difference is immediately noticeable when listening through the PHA-1A with a pair of quality headphones or earphones. I think the operative word here is "quality." I'm using a pair of Periodic Beryllium earphones when listening through the PHA-1A. The sound is clean with very tight bass (not muddied) and doesn't produce any listening fatigue. Very happy with the purchase.
