Performs well but shipping and duty cost makes poor value
The yes or no questions are a bit tricky as it is kind of in the middle and the shipping cost was a huge negative factor. The sound quality of the player is good and I am happy with the performance from that perspective. There are some things to know that didn't come out to me in the descriptions. The first is that it does NOT have a rechargable battery. I assumed with USB C that was a batter, but it is just a DC operation option to run with a wired power supply. It takes two double AA batteries for wireless operation. Very disappointing given the ultimate price. The unit is all plastic and the door operation is very basic. The stop button does not open the door, you have to grab the sides and do it manually. Overall it performs well enough, but it is a bit low quality, especially for the price ultimately paid. I had been torn between this and the FiiO CP which is made from metal and has rechargable battery. I went for the Toshiba because I thought it was better value. But after paying an unexpected duty fee on delivery of 20%, the price of the Toshiba ended up being only $35 less than the far superior FiiO. Had I known about the duty, I would have bought the FiiO which I could have purchased locally without duty.
So overall it preforms well, but for the small difference in price for a Canadian buyer, I would recommend the FiiO.
