True 9 inch pie plate by Pyrex
Recipes from the 1940s and 1950s call for a 9 inch pie plate, especially pecan pie recipes. This Pyrex plate is a true 9 inches...not 9 1/2. With larger pie plates, the filling isn't as thick. The lip of this plate holds a crust perfectly without a huge overhang. Great value for buying two plates and giving one away with a pie as a gift!

How to tell if your bulb works before a power outage
I own several of these bulbs and love them, but the last two I just purchased did not work after being fully charged. The way to test your bulb to make sure it will work when the power is off: charge the bulb for 6-8 hours (just put it in a lamp socket, turn on the lamp, and let it stay on). Once you take the bulb out after charging, screw the hook/carrier end onto it and push the On button. If the bulb does not come on, then the bulb is defective. Also, if you have a "cold" socket (the outlet is not on....may be turned on via a wall switch), put the lightbulb in that lamp with no power....the bulb will come on for about 5 seconds and then go off. Once the power is out due to a storm, etc., that bulb will automatically turn on for up to 6 hours! That is a great test to make sure your bulb is charged and working.
These bulbs are fantastic gifts, but they need to work as described! I always charge them before giving them as gifts to make sure they work as more than a regular lightbulb.....they need to come on when the power goes out!.
