I bought this for my mother's 87th birthday. She's easily upset by modern movies, and won't watch anything rated R, so I hunt for the best family classics.
She loved this one and said it was even better than she expected. The story is about an orphan in China who accidentally stows away on an American ocean liners carrying wealthy passengers.
As a movie buff myself, I also liked it, mainly because of the cast. Costarring with Temple are Robert Young (Father Knows Best) and Alice Faye (both among my mother's favorite stars). But in addition the supporting cast includes Arthur Treacher, Eugene Pallette, Helen Westley, J. Edward Bromberg, Philip Ahn, and others, most of whom will mean nothing except to another film buff.
