Rust-Oleum 7860519 Tub And Tile Refinishing 2-Part Kit, White, New

    DISOLVES IN GASOLINE
I used this product to coat a cast iron bathtub. It had been professionally recoated a few years back but it ended up peeling off around the drain so we cleaned and wet sanded the tub recoated the area that was peeled and then put on two more coats of the Rustoleum letting it dry and sanding in between coats. The first coat was real rough so we switched to a foam roller on the second coat which worked much better but still not as smooth as a sprayed on product. Still it looked a lot better. It is almost two weeks since we did the tub and I'm working on the engine for my mower and need something to clean the parts in and notice the old plastic roller pan with the rust-oleum dried in the bottom of it, so I dumped a little gas in it. I came back a few minutes later and the Rust-oleum was all bubbling up. I ran my fingers around in it and it all peeled up. All the epoxies I've ever used held up pretty good to gasoline. This may hold up all right with regular cleaners but I'm not too impressed after seeing what the gas did.
