It is the right tool for a crimping job. It makes it so much easier and the crimp is secure.

Martin cartilage scissors
This is a specialty item and has limited use outside the medical specialty. In actuality they work very well for cutting the carapace for cleaning shrimp, crabs, and lobsters.
I highly recommend them for these non-medical applications.
