Fits with slight modifications
The product worked mostly as described, although I ran into fitment issues with the upper and lower latch cable end connectors.
The upper cable end connector cam lobe was slightly too large and required filing it down slightly to make it fit.
The lower cable end connector is a bit tricky to fit into the slot on the latch, you need to have the open side of the cable end connector at a 90 degree angle to the opening of the slot on the latch, then force it in with pliers, then you need to rotate it so the open side of the cable end connector is facing away from the slot on the latch. If you don't rotate it after inserting it, the cable end can come loose from the slot, thus causing the initial problem to return.
For the price, I would have liked more detailed directions and preferably pictures or a video guide to go along with it. I also would have preferred the cam lobe to not require slight filing down in order to fit.
Overall, it seems to have fixed the problem and I expect it to last
