Perfect replacement that works great.
I bought two of these. Even though they are not new, they were clean and arrived in a sealed anti-static bag. Installation took about 30 minutes, and they work great.

Mostly OK - but there are gotchas
1 of 1 found this helpful The good: (1) You can't buy all of the separate parts any cheaper than what this unit sells for; (2) The instruction manual is 50+ pages with very good pictures - assembly was easy, and all of the small parts (screws, etc) came in a nice little kit, which included tools. The aluminum extrusions were well cut and square (one exception, see below).
The So-So: (1) The two plates that make up the work surface were not square on one cut edge. I checked them with a machinists square, and sure enough one end is out of square (looks like a slightly off cut). It doesn't impact your ability to assemble the machine, but it makes some of the measurements in the assembly manual useless, as you're working with a non-square edge. (2) The GRBL version that comes on the Arduino Uno is 0.8, and is missing a tremendous number of features. It also frequently hangs; this is easily fixed by purchasing a clone Uno (3-5$), and flashing a modern version of GRBL. I was able to replace mine easily.
The bad: The spindle stinks. The brass collet pictured with the unit has a lot of slop in the 3.175mm hole for the bit; adjustment screws are on only one side. It is impossible to get the bit balanced and rotating properly with what I was sent (the tip makes a small circle, rather than rotating on the axis of the point). I contacted the seller about the issue, and have not received any response to date.
I will likely have to purchase a different motor and/or collet to get this unit fully functional, assuming no response from the seller.
I have not tested the laser I was shipped with the unit at the time of this review.
