Used S3601 breakdown
1 of 1 found this helpful As long as you take care of it and use purified water it will last a long time and clean better than any mop. The newer S3601's don't put out as much steam. They have a different system to deliver water to the heating element, perhaps to help minimize calcium build up. If you just use purified water should be no problems but the older, more steam, mops S3601's are harder to find. My old one is S3601, another old one is S3601A. Ordered a S3601W, hope its the old design. If buying used make sure to ask is it producing plenty of steam. Otherwise they have not used purified water and you will need to tear it down to get to the heating core and drill out the calcium deposits in the inlet and outlet. If you see a tube in the water reservoir its the new design thus less steam.
