Original Voices of Americas Greatest Crisis
This four volume set is worth the retail price. What a vast collection of orginal documents that parallel the four years of the war. A great source for any Civil War buff who has read of specific battles and biographies of statesmen and the journals of the common soldier. As if the quality bound books were not value enough, the set includes fantastic maps that depict the four years of the conflict. This is trully one of the best keepsakes that came out of the 150 year observance. The reader is struck both by the literacy of "those who lived it" and the fact that these folk believed strongly in the right of their respective positions. I can highly recommend this set to any American citizen who wants to understand who we are today.
