West from Home by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Just finished reading West from Home: Letters of Laura Ingalls Wilder and for anyone who is as fascinated by the San Francisco Pan-Pacific Exposition of 1915 as I am, this is an awesome read.. Many pictures of the fair are also included. The letters are copies of what she sent home to her husband while see was visiting her daughter in the summer of 1915. They provide a keen insight in to what was happening in the city of San Francisco and the fair during her stay. Keep in mind that 1915 was only 9 years after the devastating earthquake of 1906 and the amazing resilience and tenacity of the city and its people are definitely highlighted in her letters. I highly recommend this book.
