No better than non-branded line
1 of 1 found this helpful This time I thought I'd go with Pentair, since the last two years I went with non branded pool lines... both of which barely made it through a 4 month season. This line was no better. The floats may last longer, time will tell (the other floats ended up splitting), but the overall quality doesn't seem any better. Here are the problems:
1. It came in a package with only one hook. Sense there was no packing list, I don't know if this was by design or just forgotten. Fortunately, one hook was left from the previous season's line.
2. After going through all the trouble of cutting to right length and feeding the needle back through to secure that end, the other end just came undone. Seems as though the factory set it up with just a 6" feedback... not enough to resist such things. I ended up "melting" both ends to keep this from happening. I hope.
3. The floats are positions with little "bubbles" in the rope. This is hardly enough to keep the floats in place and now they are just random on one end of the rope or another. Next year's solution (with yet another brand) is to put knots on either side of the floats.
The problem is, no one seems to be manufacturing a quality float line. At any price. But I'll keep trying.

Monitors power consumption at my RV Park.
I now own about 10 of these for my RV Park. It is a way to monitor and charge for power consumption. They seem to work flawlessly. There are only two improvements I'd like to see: 1. the inability for anyone else to sign in and possibly set total KW usage to zero and 2. to maintain either in the unit or on the phone a usage history by time period. So I could look at the previous month, for example. But obviously I'm happy living without these items.

No Windows 8, 10 or 7 (64bit) drivers available. But a workhorse if still under used.
8 years ago this was a good value and easy to set up. But the number one issue with this product is that it is no longer supported by Fargo/HID. I have been printing 100's of key cards for our motel with this model for the last 7+ years and it has been a workhorse. But you will not find any drivers for it beyond Windows 7, and then only if it is a 32bit version of Windows 7.
I had a driver for my 32bit version of windows 7... but since upgrading, my only other windows 7 machine is 64 bit and there is nothing for it. So I had to borrow an old xp laptop just to print another 200 cards until I get another printer.
I will go with the Fargo/HID printers because I am familiar with them and up until the last two years of it's life (released in 2004, so it is now 15 years old) was trouble free. More lines started showing up, would occasionally eat a ribbon, and twice wouldn't even recognize a ribbon cartridge.
