Hooked on Tetris...again
I remember this game from...well, way back when. Each incarnation seems to get better and better. Honestly, I got this one for a friend and she talked me into playing it with her and I found I was hooked again. Is it the same? Yes, and no. Maybe it isn't the winning or losing, but who you're with, but the game is still something else.

1 of 1 found this helpful I have heard so much about this movie that I had to buy it. Some are true and others are not, but it is still a movie to see.
I heard rumors of underage nudity, graphic violence, gore, and other things to make this movie more exciting. For the most part, they are wrong. Young Ms. Smith does tease a good bit in the film, but I saw no actual nudity, as such. The violence was tame, akin to a 1950's western, and the gore was so tame that I didn't even notice it. So, if you are looking for any of this, you might want to pass on the movie, as it has higher standards in mind.
Having said that, I should note that it is not a multi-million production and is rather dark and dated. The acting is not "hammy" and seems to carry well. The lighting is poor, but that actually works to the mood of the movie. In fact, you might say it is a thinker's movie, since there is so much that happens that keeps the tension tight.
For the age of the film and the experience given some of the performers, I was impressed. This film stays with the "old school," where horror is in your mind.

Not Full Moon insanity, but...
1 of 1 found this helpful I mistakenly purchased this little movie thinking it was from Full Moon productions, which it wasn't. However, I was not disappointed in it after all. In fact, it seems so much like it that I wonder if Lucky Kitty isn't run by the same people. This is horror in the 80's style, but very clearly a new production. There is gore, nudity, mutations, sick humor, and almost all the old elements of the lower class of horror, so common way back when. The torture elements are not as cruel or violent as Saw or the newer ones, but it has that flavor. The revenge part is very strong, and you find yourself rooting for the family captives. The plot even holds together better than more modern, expensive productions. I only found three little errors that could detract from the acting, but they are little and happen in even massive productions. I found the acting to be very good, even from a cast I haven't heard of before. In fact, it is rare that I find a movie where even the music and bloopers are enjoyable, but this one even pulls off that. I won't say that everyone will enjoy this movie, but it is one that might be worth the rental fee. I had almost given up on finding a film like this to kill time with, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. I hope Lucky Kitty isn't a one shot deal since it shows some promise and so do the cast members.
