All Star Cast
I hadn’t seen this show before but heard a lot about it. There are a lot of cameos from stars of earlier eras. John Schneider, Tim Conway, Carl Reiner just to name a few from the first disc. The characters are funny but the writing is a little simplistic. 3 women who are vain and battered from their lives in LA decide to live in Cleveland where life is normal and they are viewed as gorgeous instead of aging and therefore forgotten women. A fourth is Betty White who is as always a perfect straight woman, plays the caretaker who lives in the cottage behind the house but can’t stay there and is constantly in the others business. It’s a nice spin but I’m hoping it gets better as it goes along as so many shows do. After all, it went 6 seasons.
