Charming, entertaining and funny
It’s a charming if imperfect movie. More realistically, it’s a four-star, not a five but it made me feel too good to give it less.
Great cast, both the Americans and the Irish. Janeane Garofalo is funny, as always, and is the glue that holds the film together.
It is a light, romantic comedy, that entertains while showing the enticement Ireland still holds for Americans proud of their roots. The characters’ flaws only make them more endearing.
Certainly makes me want to go back, whether to search for long-lost relatives this time, or just to enjoy the beautiful country and its craic.
