Crude - Premium Chinese Cleaver Vegetable Chef Knife, 8 inch Narrow Carbon Steel

My favorite kitchen knife.

This is one of my favorite knives. When my first one arrived, I immediately took a brass pad and some food-grade mineral oil and removed as much of the black from the body of the blade as I wanted. After I cleaned it for a few minutes I was left with a beautiful patina on the blade. The steel is soft and real carbon so sharpening is needed often. Keep it oiled with a good food-grade mineral oil. But since it is so soft, it is super easy to hone the blade to keep it as sharp as you want it. This thing is very agile and you can cut veggies as thin as you want them to be. I would post a picture of mine after I cleaned it up but this weekend my daughter who is an executive chef in Seattle visited us and fell in love with it as soon as she got in our kitchen. She took it home with her and I just ordered another. Haven't got my new one yet and I miss it already.

Plus or minus 5 seconds a day. Love it,

I bought this for the history and story behind Vostok watch company. However, after wearing it for a couple of weeks I decided to replace the band as the original rubber/silicone unit was unacceptable. However, the watch is within plus or minus 5 seconds a day so I am very pleasantly surprised with that. I am very pleased with the watch and this wont be mu last Vostok.
